"The policy choices, regulatory frameworks, and ethical commitments made today will determine whether AI becomes humanity’s most powerful tool—or a dangerous accelerant of inequality, surveillance, and systemic vulnerability."
—ICCC 2025 Outcome Document

Globethics Founder and Honorary President, Christoph Stückelberger, and South Asia Regional Manager, Rajula Vethanayagam, contributed to this year’s International Conference on Cyberlaw, Cybercrime & Cybersecurity (ICCC 2025), held in New Delhi and online from 19–21 November. The conference focused on the theme “Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem: Opportunities and Challenges”, aligning closely with Globethics’ mission on ethical AI governance.

Prof. Stückelberger participated in three panels, addressing:

  • Measures to prevent AI misuse
  • Ethical frameworks across value systems
  • Digital Personal Data Protection and the emerging right to digital integrity

ICCC 2025, organised by Dr Pavan Duggal, Advocate at the Supreme Court of Delhi and Globethics Board member, brought together international stakeholders from government, civil society, academia, and the private sector. The conference issued an urgent call for coordinated international action to strengthen cyberlaw frameworks, harmonise AI governance, and ensure a digital ecosystem that is secure, equitable, rights-respecting, and sustainable.

Key recommendations highlighted include:

  • Developing globally harmonised AI governance standards grounded in ethics, human rights, and sustainability
  • Establishing transparent, accountable AI frameworks, including risk assessment, liability, and safeguards against misuse
  • Protecting the digital rights of vulnerable populations and advancing emerging rights such as cognitive integrity
  • Promoting education and capacity-building initiatives to foster responsible AI literacy
  • Encouraging environmentally sustainable AI through energy-efficient models and green infrastructures
  • Supporting national legislation aligned with international best practices for ethical, transparent, and human-centred AI deployment

Globethics welcomes these outcomes and remains committed to advancing inclusive, ethical, and responsible AI governance worldwide. The insights and recommendations from ICCC 2025 will inform our ongoing work with policymakers, academic institutions, and civil society partners, reinforcing the need for global cooperation in shaping a digital future that serves humanity rather than undermines it.
