South Asia Centre
Established in September 2010 together with Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram (DVK) in Bangalore, the South Asia Centre works towards the Globethics mission of ethical leadership by developing conferences, research, publications and journals, anti-corruption and awareness-raising campaigns, and training and consulting for higher education institutions, teachers and professionals across the South Asia region.
- 7 countries: India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka
- 56 institutions engaged in cooperation projects or as partners
- 36 senior leaders from 22 higher education institutions in India trained in ethical benchmarking, monitoring and evaluation with the Ethics Model of Excellence Tool (EMET) in 2023
- 1,667 administrative and teaching professionals from 618 Indian higher education institutions participated in research ethics faculty development programme

Co-developing ethics training with partners across India
Globethics South Asia Centre has long developed strong partnerships with educational institutions across the Indian sub-continent. In collaboration with these partners, the Centre regularly trains higher education faculty and students on pertinent topics and their ethical implications. In 2023, over 4,800 people attended online and in-person training events organised by Globethics South Asia Centre.

Meet the team
Having worked with Globethics since 2010, Rajula Vethanayagam is currently the Regional Manager of the South Asia Centre in Bangalore. Originally from the Tamil Nadu, India, Rajula leverages her educational background in economics, education, youth and social work, English and international relations, and her professional experience in leadership and teaching to manage Globethics' activities in the South Asia region.
As part of her work, she has organised more than 150 events, certificate courses, seminars, conferences, workshops, symposiums, dialogues, and programmes for youth leadership and women's empowerment, among other projects.
Esther Ghosh is the Administrative Officer at the Globethics South Asia Centre. With an engineering degree in Electronics and Communication, a Master’s in Philosophy, and a second Bachelor’s degree in Education, she uses her skills in analytics and her fluency in Bengali, English, Hindi, and Oriya to support the reach of Globethics' work in South Asia.
With a particular interest in ethics in higher education, she took an active role in organising the 2023 EMET workshops in India. She strives to advance Globethics' presence in more remote parts of India.
