Paul Martens (USA) is Director of the Baylor Ethics Initiative and Associate Professor of Ethics in the Department of Religion at Baylor University. He has served on Baylor’s faculty since 2006 and also holds the role of Director of Interdisciplinary Programs in the College of Arts and Sciences. In his capacity as Director, he leads a university‑wide community of scholars dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research, teaching, and public engagement in ethics, including work in global ethics, bioethics, and ethics in leadership

Dr. Martens earned his Ph.D. in Moral Theology and Christian Ethics from the University of Notre Dame and specializes in Christian ethics, global ethics, human dignity, interreligious cooperation, and the ethical dimensions of peace, violence, and war. He is the author and editor of multiple books—several focused on Søren Kierkegaard and Anabaptist ethics—and has published widely in leading academic journals
