Hope, peace, and renewed purpose for 2026
As 2025 draws to a close, we extend our thanks to our global network of partners, experts, participants, and supporters. This year, our work has focused on empowering individuals and institutions for excellence in responsible governance, particularly in AI, inclusive peace, and higher education.
In AI ethics, Globethics was honoured as a WSIS Champion 2025 for amplifying Global South perspectives in shaping ethical and inclusive digital futures. We convened the Global Ethics Forum (GEF) as an official pre-event of the India AI Impact Summit and began chairing a UNESCO working group dedicated to empowering citizens and civil society organisations (CSOs) in AI Governance.
More milestone moments this year include piloting a decision-support tool to help leaders navigate complex ethical choices with our Indonesian affiliate, YADEMA, and launching the Ethical Leadership for an Inclusive Future in Sub-Saharan Africa programme, which will deliver capacity building training for 60 civil society and faith-based organisations in 6 African countries for more inclusive and transparent governance.
Working alongside global partners and our regional centres, we equipped thousands of professionals across sectors with practical support for ethical leadership and decision-making. Among others, this included anti-corruption training for engineers, ethics in higher education for university staff and students in El Salvador, and AI ethics for parliamentarians.
We continued to foster dialogue for a more inclusive world. Our statement on inclusive peace was quoted by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, and a white paper on interfaith and peace dialogue is underway. Globethics actively contributed to initiatives for peace in Ukraine and the Middle East. At GEF 2025, we had the honour of awarding two peacebuilders working together between Palestine and Israel, celebrating their courage and commitment to reconciliation.
Beyond these initiatives, we valued moments of connection, including our team and Board meeting in Geneva in October— a gathering that reflected the strength of our global community, united across borders by a shared purpose.
As we reflect on 2025, we are reminded that even amid uncertainty and rapid change, shared commitment to ethical leadership can drive meaningful impact. We enter 2026 with hope and renewed purpose to advance AI ethics, expand responsible governance initiatives, and together shape a future rooted in responsibility, inclusion, and integrity.
We look forward to staying connected—please reach out if you have ideas to share or would like to explore ways to work together. Wishing you a season of reflection, peace, and shared hope for the year ahead.
