Abstract

Water is, by its very nature, a source of life and, if treated with respect, it preserves it. Its complexity demands constant study and makes the ethics of water a priority in education.
This second bilingual French-English volume, Blue Ethics Vol. 2, is supported by the Workshop for Water Ethics (W4W) association and features voluntary contributions from experts in Europe, United States, Africa and Asia. It aims to raise awareness of water-related issues and the need to protect water, by highlighting the cross-cutting nature of this vital resource and the necessity of an ethical approach to climate, geopolitical and social challenges.
Drawing on a wide range of disciplines — including biology, law, philosophy, theology, engineering and the social sciences — this volume explores global and local solutions that promote health and well-being, particularly through education and new technologies. It thus continues the intercultural and interdisciplinary dialogue initiated by W4W through a series of around ten symposia.
