Highlighting ethical governance at MEDays Forum 2024 in Morocco
Globethics made a significant impact at the 16th MEDays Forum, held from 27 to 30 November 2024 in Tangier, Morocco, a prestigious event that brought together 7,000 participants, including heads of state, policymakers, and experts from 112 countries. This year’s forum, themed "Sovereignty and Resilience Towards a New Global Balance," provided a vital platform for addressing pressing global challenges.
Kamel Ayadi, MENA Regional Consul, international consultant on anti-corruption and governance, and former Minister of Anti-Corruption and Governance, Government of Tunisia, represented Globethics in two high-profile discussions:
- Plenary Panel: "Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Ethics: Shaping a Responsible Future"
- Roundtable: "Digital Governance in the 21st Century: Shaping Sovereignty in Cyberspace"
During these sessions, Ayadi tackled critical issues, including the global regulation of artificial intelligence, the growing trust deficit between governments and big tech companies, and the societal risks posed by unregulated AI. He emphasised the need for ethical governance to mitigate threats to privacy, security, and equity while protecting national sovereignty in the digital era.
Ayadi’s insights highlighted Globethics’ leadership in promoting ethical discourse and advocating for responsible technological development. The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that digital advancements align with equitable and inclusive principles, fostering technology that serves humanity effectively.
The MEDays Forum showcased the essential role of ethics in shaping a balanced and resilient global future, with Globethics contributing a critical voice to the dialogue.
