Globethics President Dr Dietrich Werner contributed a powerful message on ethical funding and shared responsibility during the 6th European Policy Dialogue Forum (EPDF), held from 11–13 November 2025 at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Geneva. Convened by the International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID), the Forum gathered over 100 participants from across Europe under the theme “Social Cohesion in Changing Climates: Fostering Inclusive Paths to Equity in Europe.”

In Plenary Session 5, “Ethical Funding for Shared Futures in a Fragmented Europe,” Werner and fellow panellists Professor Jagbir Jhutti Johal, Martin Palmer, Cristi Buceceanu, Claudia Barbarano, and Bishop Kari Mangrud Alvsvåg underscored the critical role that values-based investment plays in bridging principles and practice. His input emphasised that ethical funding is not merely a financial mechanism but a moral commitment—one that can translate social cohesion, climate justice, and human dignity into measurable action.

Werner’s intervention aligned closely with the EPDF Call to Action, which urges religious leaders, policymakers, civil society organisations, and ethical investors to collaborate across the interconnected pillars of People, Planet, and Prosperity. His message reinforced a central conviction shared by Globethics and KAICIID: that sustainable and inclusive futures depend on ethical leadership, transparent standards, and the courage to confront emerging challenges—from greenwashing to geopolitical instability.

For Globethics, participation in the EPDF is significant. It strengthens partnerships with dialogue-driven organisations, amplifies our commitment to ethical investment education—such as the Ethical Leadership for Inclusive Futures in Sub-Saharan Africa project—, and supports collective action to build socially cohesive and environmentally responsible communities. Werner’s contribution also opens doors to sustained collaboration with KAICIID, including potential co-investment in city-based inclusion initiatives planned for 2026.

Globethics is proud to support the Forum’s call for ethical, inclusive, and interreligious cooperation across Europe.
