In an era of geopolitical fragmentation and technological disruption, peacebuilding must confront new digital frontlines. This interactive workshop, part of Geneva Peace Week 2025, explores how AI systems, from social media algorithms to generative AI, shape narratives that deepen polarisation, normalise dehumanisation, and erode the fabric of shared humanity.

Participants will collaboratively examine how to reclaim digital spaces for peace, reimagine ethical AI practices, how AI can assist peacebuilding, and formulate human-centred responses that promote dignity and cohesion.

About Geneva Peace Week

Geneva Peace Week (GPW) is a leading annual forum in the international peacebuilding calendar through which organisations in Geneva and their international partners come together to share knowledge and practice on a diverse range of topics related to peace across contexts and disciplines. GPW is a flagship initiative of the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform.

Globethics has been an active participant at Geneva Peace Week for the past two years, using the platform to advance dialogue and action on the ethical governance of artificial intelligence. GPW has served as a strategic catalyst for Globethics and its partners, helping to shape impactful conversations that bridge technology, human rights, and peacebuilding.

In 2024, Globethics’ workshop on “AI and the Fourth Revolution” generated lasting momentum by surfacing urgent concerns around algorithmic discrimination, digital dignity, and the widening impact of AI on global inequalities. At Geneva Peace Week 2025, Globethics builds on this momentum by examining how AI-driven polarisation threatens peace and dignity, and how a human rights-based approach can help reclaim technology for inclusive, ethical futures.
