About the project
"DARS is a multilingual educational technology platform delivering affordable AI-powered tutoring to marginalised learners in India.
DARS is currently in active pilot in West Bengal, serving learners from Hindu, Muslim, and indigenous religious backgrounds. West Bengal's plural social fabric makes interfaith design a practical necessity rather than an aspiration: the platform must work across communities with different values, languages, and relationships to authority, and its governance model is built to reflect that.
During the fellowship period, my goal is to complete this pilot and produce a replicable community AI governance toolkit adaptable beyond the education sector."
